Data Collection

This website collects minimal personal data. There is no contact form, no account and no newsletter. When you book a call via Calendly or write me an email, the data you provide (name, email address, message) is used solely to respond to your inquiry and manage the business relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). No personal data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Hosting and Server Logs

This website is hosted on Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit the site, Cloudflare processes technical connection data that your browser transmits, including your IP address, browser type, requested URL, referring URL, and date and time of access. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and to protect it against attacks (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Cookies and Analytics

This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies and does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool that profiles visitors. Fonts are hosted on this server; no data is sent to Google Fonts.

Browser Storage

Some features save data in your browser's local storage (not in a cookie): your light or dark theme choice when you use the theme switch, your entries in the Schema Generator, the hreflang Generator and the llms.txt Generator, and the items you tick in the AI Search Checklist. This data stays in your browser. These features do not send it to this website's server or to anyone else, and I cannot see it. It remains there until you delete it in your browser.

Calendly

The booking calendar on the contact page is only loaded after you click "Show available times". Until then, no connection to Calendly is made. Once loaded, or when you follow a booking link, Calendly (Calendly LLC, USA) processes your name, email address, and any information you provide in the booking form (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). Calendly's privacy policy applies: calendly.com/privacy.

Stripe

For payment processing, this website links to Stripe (Stripe Inc., USA). When you make a payment, Stripe processes your payment information in accordance with PCI-DSS standards (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Stripe's privacy policy applies: stripe.com/privacy.

Free SEO Tools

The Content Automation ROI Calculator, the Schema Generator, the hreflang Generator, the generator parts of the robots.txt and llms.txt tools and the AI Search Checklist run entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is transmitted.

The following 13 tools send the URL or domain you enter, together with the language of the page, to this website's server:

  • Schema Check
  • AI Crawler Check
  • HTTP Header Check

  • llms.txt Checker (check of a live URL)

The server then fetches the public URL you entered. Your browser does not do this; the request comes from the server. Depending on the tool, the server also requests the site's robots.txt, sitemaps and llms.txt, redirect targets, the http, https, www and non-www versions of the address, and other addresses named by the page, such as canonical and hreflang targets or the Open Graph image. This processing is necessary to show you the result you asked for (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The tools do not save the URL in a database or other permanent storage, and there are no user accounts to link it to. The URL can appear in short-lived technical logs (see "Technical Logs").

After a check, the checked URL appears in your browser's address bar as part of the page address (?url=). The check field on the home page opens the SEO Quick Check with the same kind of address. If you open or share such an address, the checked URL reaches Cloudflare as part of the normal page request (see "Hosting and Server Logs"), and the check runs again automatically.

The site you check receives the requests from the tools, and its operator can see them, for example in server logs. They come from Cloudflare's network and normally carry the user agent SeebergerIndexCheck/1.0 with a link to this website. The AI Crawler Check also sends requests with the user agent of a normal browser and with the user agents of AI crawlers such as GPTBot. Those requests do not name this website. None of these requests contains your IP address.

The SERP Snippet & Meta Check shows the favicon and the Open Graph image of the checked page in its preview. Your browser loads these two images directly from the addresses the checked page names. The server hosting them therefore receives your IP address and the usual technical data of your browser (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Third Parties Used by the Free Tools

Depending on the tool, this website's server passes the following data to these services:

  • Google LLC (USA), for the Core Web Vitals Check: the URL you entered and its origin (protocol and domain) go to Google PageSpeed Insights and the Chrome UX Report (CrUX). Google then loads the page itself to measure it.
  • Internet Archive (USA), for the SEO Quick Check: the domain of the checked site goes to archive.org, to find the date of its earliest archived copy.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), for all 13 tools listed above: the host name of the entered URL, and in some cases of a redirect target, goes to Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS service (cloudflare-dns.com), to confirm that it does not point to a private address. The result is held briefly in the server's working memory.

These services receive the data from this website's server. The server does not pass your IP address on to them. The tools use no other outside services. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in providing the requested check and in protecting the server from misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The privacy policies of these services apply: policies.google.com/privacy, archive.org/about/terms, cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Rate Limiting

To protect the tools from misuse, every request to one of the 13 tools is counted with your IP address together with the name of the tool, using Cloudflare's rate limiting. The limit is 15 requests per minute per tool. Above it, the tool answers with an error message until the minute has passed. This website's own code does not save your IP address for this purpose (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Technical Logs

The server runs on Cloudflare Workers with Cloudflare's observability function switched on. Cloudflare records technical data about the requests the server handles, such as the time, the requested address and the response status. If a tool fails, the name of the tool and the error message are logged as well; the error message can contain the checked URL. These logs are used to keep the website and the tools running and to find errors (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). They are kept briefly.

Transfers Outside the EU

Cloudflare, Inc., Google LLC, the Internet Archive, Calendly LLC and Stripe Inc. are based in the USA. Data these providers receive can therefore be processed outside the European Union and the European Economic Area.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: request a copy of data held about you
  • Right to rectification: request corrections to inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to restrict processing: request limits on how your data is used
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object: object to processing of your personal data
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority
